Melissa Madsen and husband Greg started K.C. Riding Academy in 2003.

Melissa grew up in Morgan Hill, CA, went to college at Pepperdine University and all the while rode all kinds of horses. When she was younger she was much more into regional show circuits, 4-H, FFA and more.  

Melissa and Greg started Kalana Corral to support their interests of learning of horses as well as provide a structured program for children. Originally planned for the Morgan Hill area K.C. Academy has been brought here to their new community in Brentwood CA.

"In Brentwood there is only 1 local 4-H program that has an active  horse project. There are many trainers in the area and plenty of horses but no one honestly teaches kids how to ride and care for horses." said Melissa.
