Lease
Are
you or your child interested in test driving a horse without the
risk of full ownership? Many of our lesson horses are available
for half or full leases. This period will give you the
opportunity to ride more often, ride on your own schedule and
let you establish a personal relationship with a horse.
All
leases require the following:
-
Written
agreement between leasee and Kalana Corral, Inc.
-
Routine vet
and farrier care would be provided by Kalana Corral
-
All horses
rest on Monday!
-
All
leasee’s must be a current student or an alumni, or pass
the level B exam for K.C. Academy
-
Horses may
must stay at Cedar Creek Stables
-
Horses and
riders must be suitable for each others skill levels
Half
leases would give
riding rights three days a week when the horse is not scheduled
in lessons. These days and times would be scheduled in advance
so that both riders and instructors knew when the horse would be
in use. Half leases start at $ 95.00 per month.
Full
leases are perfect for
those students that would like to try “owning” a horse
without the initial investment in the purchase of the animal
($1,000 and up), boarding ($200a month plus , vet care, shoeing, tack and
more… This initial investment can often run into the thousands
of dollars.
Benefits
of leasing:
-
Trying out
ownership. A lease of a horse would give you an opportunity
to experiencing owning a horse, maintenance and upkeep with
out the initial expense.
-
Full Leases
are much more flexible and allow for pursuing showing of the
animal and more advanced training for both horse and rider.
-
You would
be able to try a horse out for personality.
-
You would
not have to worry about having to eventually sell the
horse should you decide at some point the sport or that
particular horse is not for you.
A
student or family may want to try going a little farther with
their skills. Practice skills that they have learned in class on
their own, show a horse, and get into a more personal
relationship with a horse. Full leases are $ 225.00 per month.

Donations
–
Our Academy is always looking for
new ways to help foster children's enthusiasm for learning. We
are constantly on the look out for any of the following items:
-
Books and Videos about horses
and animals
-
Riding Equipment and apparel
(Boots and Hard Hats)

-
Horse Equipment (blankets,
saddles, bridles, fencing mats and more...)

As you can guess or may already
know horses are an expensive hobby especially when you are just
starting out! We do our best to limit the financial drain on
parents and new riders by helping to provide loaner equipment,
apparel, safety equipment etc... In this way our students can
learn without spending a fortune to see if horsemanship is for
them. Once the "horse" bug has bitten then we encourage our
students to find or purchase their own equipment and apparel.
Additionally horse equipment goes
to a variety of uses. Some goes right to work in lessons and
keeping our horses happy & healthy. Other equipment may be used
in camps and clinics an educational and informational tool
HORSES & PONIES
Do you have a horse or pony that needs a good solid home?
Do you want to see them doted upon by children and adults alike?
Consider donating your horse or pony to K.C. Academy.
Requests
for donated horses:
-

clean vet check or copies of medical records on the animal
so that the academy can take optimum care of the animal and
knows any ailments they may have. Coggins test is
required.

Horse or
pony must be serviceably sound (horses can have arthritis,
navicular, cushings or other non-transferable disease
as long as at a minimum they can sustain a walk and trot for
beginning students)
-
Personality
must be friendly toward children and adults.
-
No studs
please! Otherwise gender is not an issue.
-
No
preference on color or breed. Horses do not need to be
registered they can be grade.
